This morning I did not reach for my phone as quickly. My brain caught me before I could take the physical action. Perhaps I am on the road to recovery. I am amazed at how much time social media was occupying in my day. Yesterday I was able to accomplish several tasks I had been putting off due to “lack of time”. Last night I took my daughter out to the evil mouse pizza place for a school event. I was able to sit with my Pixelbook automatically tethered to my Pixel 2 XL and access my servers and hosting packages. In the 2 hours I was there I was able to turn up a SuiteCRM server (https://suitecrm.com/). Yes, it’s a shameless plug for another great Open Source solution. However, I try to drink my own Kool-Aid and using great software from these Open Source community projects is great for business both mine and perhaps yours as well? Interested get back to me and I would be happy to tell you more about it. Ok, back from the marketing pitch to the story. I found watching the local news and checking out, believe it or not, The Wall Street Journal; I get a fair amount of the news I would have gotten from Facebook in the past and strangely with allot less political bias. Research has shown them to be the least biased news source available and so far I have to agree. For tech I still rely on the plethora of sources available and will probably eventually put together an RSS feed to give me the stream of what I want to consume there from latest gadgets and technology to the next big data breach or failing company. Overall I am finding this to be less of strain and more of a blessing. I will keep you updated on progress but so far the future is looking bright without the flood of social media from a personal standpoint. Questions please feel free to ask. Until next time all the best!
